Cervical Cancer Vaccine Found Effective in Clinical Trial

A vaccine designed to protect women from being infected with human papillomavirus (HPV) types 6, 11, 16, and 18 was effective in preventing high-grade cervical precancers and noninvasive cervical cancers in a large, randomized clinical trial, according to a statement from the vaccine's manufacturer Merck.
