Elizabeth H. Blackburn, Ph.D., a professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of California at San Francisco, has received the Twenty-Sixth Annual Bristol-Myers Squibb Award for Distinguished Achievement in Cancer Research. The award recognizes her contributions to the discovery of telomerase and the understanding of telomere function. Blackburn will receive a $50,000 cash prize and a silver medal at the annual awards dinner to be held in New York City in October.
