Awards, Appointments, Announcements

{blacksquare} Kelli Bullard Dunn, M.D., was appointed to the Gastrointestinal Service in the Department of Surgical Oncology and to the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, N.Y. Dunn will also serve as associate professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Buffalo.

{blacksquare} Paul Flint, M.D., was named the first Charles W. Cummings, M.D., Professor in the Johns Hopkins University Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery for his work with robotic surgery techniques used to remove cancerous tumors in the airway and for his use of botulinum toxin to restore voice strength.

{blacksquare} Scott Antonia, M.D., Ph.D., was named the 2005 Physician of the Year for the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Tampa, Fla. Antonia is co-leader of the Immunology Program and associate professor in the Department of Interdisciplinary Oncology at the Center.

{blacksquare} The Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Institute in New York recently honored three of its members. Alan Hall, Ph.D., was named chairman of the Cell Biology Program in the Sloan-Kettering Institute. Samuel D. J. Yeh, M.D., was named a Member Emeritus of Memorial Sloan-Kettering. Ronald G. Blasberg, M.D., was given an honorary doctorate in medical science from the University of Copenhagen for his work in neurology and neurooncology.

{blacksquare} Mary B. Daly, M.D., of the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia was appointed senior vice president of the population science division and given the first Timothy R. Talbot Jr. Chair in Cancer Research. Daly has been with Fox Chase Cancer Center since 1989.
