Awards, Appointments, Announcements

{blacksquare} Lainie P. Martin, M.D., joined the department of medical oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia as an attending physician.

{blacksquare} John T. Hunt, Ph.D., was voted chairperson-elect of the chemistry in cancer research working group of the American Association for Cancer Research. He is executive director of oncology drug discovery at Bristol-Myers.

{blacksquare} Nicholas J. Vogelzang, M.D., F.A.C.P., was appointed chair of the board of directors at the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation in Santa Barbara, Calif.

{blacksquare} Mark A. Morgan, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., F.A.C.S., was named chief of gynecologic oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center.

{blacksquare} Asif R. Harsolia, M.D., of William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich.; Sandeep S. Hunjan, Ph.D., of the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston; and Ping Zhang, M.D., Ph.D., of Institute Gustave Roussy in France, were awarded the American Society for Therapeutic Radiation and Oncology's 2006 poster recognition awards.

{blacksquare} Charles E. McKay, M.D., was appointed to the board of governors of the Sarah Cannon Research Institute in Nashville, Tenn. McKay is the CEO of Tennessee Oncology PLLC.
