Awards, Appointments, Announcements

{blacksquare} Ellen R. Gritz, Ph.D., was awarded the 2006 Business and Professional Women's Clubs Texas Award. Gritz chairs the department of behavioral science at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.

{blacksquare} Kenneth S. Zaret, Ph.D., was appointed the Method to Extend Research in Time (MERIT) award from the National Institutes of Health. Zaret works for Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. The award gives him $5.7 million over 10 years.

{blacksquare} Raymond N. DuBois, M.D., Ph.D., was awarded the Anthony Dipple Carcinogenesis Award for major contribution to the field. DuBois is director of the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville, Tenn., and serves on the board of scientific advisors to the National Cancer Institute director.
