Selected Recommendations of the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy
Federal agencies should receive increased funding for clinical, basic, and health services research on CAM.
Congress should consider enacting legislative and administrative incentives to stimulate private sector investment in CAM research on products that may not be patentable.
Increased efforts should be made to strengthen the emerging dialogue among CAM and conventional medical practitioners, researchers, and accredited research institutions; federal and state research, health care, and regulatory agencies; the private and nonprofit sectors; and the general public.
The federal government should make available accurate, useful, and easily accessible information on CAM practices and products, including information on safety and effectiveness.
