Town Meetings Set Stage For Panel’s Report

The President’s Cancer Panel held a series of hearings in 2000 and 2001 around the country, to which they invited people with cancer to speak out about the barriers they face in getting cancer care. These hearings were held in:

  Los Angeles, Calif. (Feb. 2001)

  Albuquerque, N.M. (March 2001)

  Washington, D.C. (May 2001)

  Omaha, Neb. (June 2000)

  Burlington, Vt. (Sept. 2000)

  Billings, Mont. (Oct. 2000)

  Nashville, Tenn. (Nov. 2000)

Based on testimonies from the citizens, the panel issued a report, Voices of a Broken System: Real People, Real Problems. It can be accessed at: http://deainfo.nci.nih.gov/advisory/pcp/pcp.htm
