Prospective Study of Fruit and Vegetable Consumption and Incidence of Colon and Rectal Cancers

"Prospective Study of Fruit and Vegetable Consumption and Incidence of Colon and Rectal Cancers" by Michels et al. Table 1: The correct distribution of vegetable consumption among the men in 1986 was <=1 serving of vegetables per day: 5910 men; 2 servings per day: 11 797 men; 3 servings per day: 11 097 men; 4 servings per day: 7812 men; >=5 servings per day: 10 699 men. Errors also occurred in Tables 2 and 3. The correct RR of colon cancer among men for one additional serving of vegetables per day is 1.03 (95% CI = 0.97 to 1.10) and for one additional serving of fruits and vegetables per day is 1.04 (95% CI = 0.99 to 1.08). The corrected tables are available in the electronic version of the Journal (http://www.jnci.oupjounals.org). None of the errors alters the interpretation of the data or the authors' conclusions. The authors regret the errors.
