NEWS

OECI Names Officers

During its recent annual assembly in Brno, Czech Republic, the Organization of European Cancer Institutes appointed new officers for 3-year terms. The organization has 62 member institutes in 32 eastern and western European countries. Those elected are:

Professor Guy Storme, M.D., Ph.D. became chairman; Professor Andrzej Kulakowski, M.D., Ph.D., became past chairman; Professor Thomas Tursz, M.D., became vice chairman; Vitor Veloso, M.D., became treasurer; and Natale Cascinelli, M.D., and Professor Ulrik Ringborg, M.D., Ph.D., were elected as members.

In addition, Ringborg was named as chairman of the membership committee; Tursz was named head of the program committee; and Antonio Llombart Bosch, M.D., Ph.D., was named chairman of the pathology committee. Archie J. Turnbull is executive secretary.
