Andres et al. reported that Merkel cell carcinomas (MCCs) that arise on a limb or in the head and neck region may contain Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) DNA more frequently than MCCs located on the trunk. This observation, although not statistically significant and based on small numbers, is in line with our findings. The reason,
