Androgen Deprivation Therapy and the Risk of Cardiovascular Death
Androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) may increase the risk of coronary artery disease. Tsai et al. (p. 1516) investigated the relationship between ADT use and the risk of death from cardiovascular causes in patients with localized prostate cancer. Among patients 65 years or older treated with radical prostatectomy, ADT use was associated with a statistically significant increase in the risk of death from cardiovascular causes.
