Chemotherapy May Suppress Breast Cancer Risk in Hodgkins Survivors

Women treated with radiation therapy for Hodgkins disease are at a strongly increased risk of breast cancer. Now, a new study suggests that this risk for breast cancer increases with increasing radiation dose. However, adding chemotherapy to radiation is associated with a reduction in this risk, possibly by inducing premature menopause. The findings appear in the July 2 issue of the Journal of the National Cancer
