Chemotherapy May Suppress Breast Cancer Risk in Hodgkin’s Survivors

Women treated with radiation therapy for Hodgkin’s disease are at a strongly increased risk of breast cancer. Now, a new study suggests that this risk for breast cancer increases with increasing radiation dose. However, adding chemotherapy to radiation is associated with a reduction in this risk, possibly by inducing premature menopause.
