The International Myeloma Foundation presented its annual recognition awards in October:

William C. Pearson, vice president of the Strategic Consumer Group at Ortho Biotech, was honored with the Quality of Life Award.

James A. Bianco, M.D., president and chief executive officer of Cell Therapeutics Inc., and Julian Adams, Ph.D., and Michael Kauffman, M.D., of Millenium Pharmaceuticals Inc., were given the Ribbon of Hope Award.

Rudolf L. Brutoco, M.D., of the Life-Savers Foundation of America, was honored with the Courage Award.
