NEWS

International Clinical Trial Recommendations Released

Sanyin Siang

GoThe increasing number of U.S.-sponsored or -regulated trials conducted abroad, the changing landscape of international research collaborations, and potential exploitation of participants from developing countries have prompted the National Bioethics Advisory Commission to issue several recommendations regarding the conduct of research in other countries.

Released earlier this year, the report focused on principal ethical requirements for U.S.-sponsored or -regulated clinical trials conducted in developing countries and the need for such research to be responsive to the health needs of the host country.
