The Bayer Institute for Health Care Communication, Las Vegas, presented U. S. Surgeon General David Satcher, M.D., with its Distinguished Physician Communicator Award. Satcher, who also is U. S. assistant secretary for health, was honored for his communications skills and the "positive influence these skills have on patient care."
