Awards, Appointments, Announcements

The American Association for Cancer Research, Philadelphia, announced that it is renaming the AACR research fellowship as the AACR-Anna D. Barker Fellowship in Basic Research in honor of the contributions of Anna D. Barker, Ph.D., to AACR and the cancer community.

Barker, who is a member of the AACR board, served as vice chairperson of THE MARCH on Washington, D.C., last September. She also co-chaired THE MARCH's research task force. She is president and chief executive officer of BIO-NOVA, Inc, Portland, Ore.

Harris Honored

The Charles Heidelberger Award was presented recently to Curtis C. Harris, Ph.D., chief of the National Cancer Institute's Laboratory of Human Carcinogenesis.
