"Human Lung Carcinogen- DNA Adduct Levels Mediated by Genetic Polymorphisms In Vivo,"

Kato et al

Figs. 1, B, and 2, A, in this article were previously published by Shields et al. [Cancer Res 1993;53:3486–92], and Fig. 2, B, was previously published by Kato et al. [Cancer Epidemiol Biomarkers Prev 1994;3:515–8]. [Cancer Epidemiol Biomarkers Prev 1994;3:515–8]. Additionally, data relating to the determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon-DNA adducts in 38 individuals were included in the study by Shields et al. mentioned above, and so readers should not infer from these publications that there were separate datasets. The present authors apologize to their previous co-workers for failing to acknowledge them in this article by not citing the publications for which they were co-authors, to the Journal for failing to meet the requirements stated in its "Information for Authors" relating to the above, and to readers for inadvertently impeding accurate inference.
